The Haarlemmermeerse Bos is a 115-hectare park-like area around the recreational lake which is located northwest of Hoofddorp. It has developed into a regional attraction for day trippers, hikers, groomers, cyclists, boot campers, swimmers, surfers, dog owners, riders and anglers.
Groene Weelde is a recreational area located between Hoofddorp, Cruquius and Vijfhuizen. It is a varied area with forests, water features and wide watercourses with nature banks. The recreation area connects to the Haarlemmermeerse Bos and also includes the former Floriade site with the Big Spotters Hill.
Nature can take its course in the nature reserve: shallow, swampy areas where amphibians and fish thrive and a sandy area with dune vegetation. You can walk and play in the area. There is a staircase field, basketball court, play and viewing hill, skating pond and model boat pond with fishing piers and a toboggan slope. The lake is surrounded by beaches and sunbathing areas.
The Haarlemmermeer is bursting with beautiful cycling routes for beginners and advanced cyclists and this week the sun with blue skies ensures perfect cycling weather. Nice outside of nature, a perfect reason to take an active trip.
